You’re not alone

Being a young mom, or parenting in general is just…I don’t know…that’s it I just, I don’t know. Honestly it’s hard out here. I salute all parents. I’ve been a SAHM and a working mom on and off my entire time of being a mother. No matter what else I am doing, there are so many ups and downs. Especially being a mom that suffers with her own mental health & childhood trauma.

Trying to raise children without continuing that curse, while trying to also better yourself is honestly, the hardest thing in my life. If you are feeling the same way as me, I just want you to know you’re not alone. We’re in this together, even though it feels like ‘this’ is an eternity. You know how people say, you don’t know until you know? Well the shit’s true. You’ve never been this age, with this age child before right? So you DON’T know. We are endlessly learning and it’s OKAY to mess up.

There are days that feel like the absolute best. Being able to hug my kids, play games with them, and just feel so in the moment. Those times are memorable. There’s other memorable days too, however, the days that aren’t talked about. The ones that feel like a living hell. You know what I’m talking about? Like, those days where everything is overstimulating, overwhelming, and there just doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. The days that NOTHING helps. Even the kids. Nothing seems to bring you out of that mood. Those days don’t make me, or you, a bad parent. Sometimes, in the words of Kiana Ledé, “it’s just one of them days”. And honestly, times are hard right now. It’s not the way that it used to be.

You are doing great babe, even if it doesn’t feel like it. Based off my own personal opinion, parents don’t hear that enough. Just in case you are like me, and it’s something that you desperately needed to hear… I’ll be that voice for you. You’re not alone. We are in this together.
